Super
excited about the launch of Strandead.
Strandead is an addictive and deceptively challenging mini game based on an episode of the hit animation series
"Happy Tree Friends". Its a Web game, but its not in Flash so runs on mobile browsers
too. Strandead was made with our very own Tresensa Game Engine (TGE) SDK. What I am happy about is the
performance on mobile browsers, even though we have not yet optimized for the
small screen. A lot of game developers are wondering what types of games can
be made with HTML5 and if HTML5 games can run well on the mobile
web. I hope the performance of this game encourages more people to give the medium a go.
Strandead
was a joint effort between Mondo Media, the creators of the show, and
Mondo Studios, using the TGE SDK, a lightweight and simple to use HTML5 game engine, that has
basic features to create a 2D games like Strandead and has a bunch of handy
utilities to make it run reasonably well across all platforms (desktop
and mobile devices).
TGE is available for free at www.tresensa.com for those interested in making their own open web games.
